A New Chapter: Vancouver Island Caribbean Hub Is Now Caribbean Hub!

We’re excited to share an important milestone in our organization’s journey!

Vancouver Island Caribbean Hub is officially now Caribbean Hub!

What began as an initiative to celebrate Caribbean culture and bring our community together on Vancouver Island has expanded into something much bigger. Over the years, our programming, partnerships, and community connections have continued to extend beyond the Island, and we felt it was time for our name to reflect that broader reach.

Growing Beyond Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island will always be home to Caribbean Hub. It’s where our organization was established, where we’ve built meaningful community relationships, and where the majority of our programs and events continue to take place.

However, our work is no longer limited to the Island.

We’ve been developing new connections and opportunities across British Columbia, particularly in the Lower Mainland, where there are additional opportunities to engage Caribbean communities, collaborate with cultural organizations, and introduce new audiences to our programming.

By becoming Caribbean Hub, we’re creating more room to expand these relationships while continuing to serve the community that has supported us from the beginning.

More Opportunities to Connect and Celebrate

Our vision has always been about more than organizing events.

Through initiatives such as i-Land Fest, cultural workshops, community programs, and professional artist presentations, we work to celebrate Caribbean heritage, create opportunities for cultural expression, and bring people together.

As we expand our reach, we look forward to building new partnerships, connecting with more Caribbean artists and cultural practitioners, and creating opportunities for communities across British Columbia to experience Caribbean culture.

We also recognize that Caribbean communities throughout the province have their own experiences, needs, and perspectives. Expanding our reach gives us an opportunity to learn from one another, share resources, and strengthen connections between communities.

Same Mission, Broader Reach

While our name has changed, our mission remains the same.

We’re still committed to celebrating and preserving Caribbean arts and culture, strengthening community connections, creating opportunities for artists, and fostering a sense of belonging.

And we’re still proudly based on Vancouver Island!

The majority of our programming will continue to take place here, including our flagship annual festival, i-Land Fest. Our expansion simply allows us to bring our work to additional communities and explore new opportunities for cultural collaboration.

Thank You for Growing With Us

None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our community, volunteers, artists, partners, funders, and everyone who has participated in our programs and events over the years.

You’ve helped us build something meaningful, and we’re excited about the opportunities ahead.

Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or are just discovering Caribbean Hub, we look forward to continuing this journey together.

Welcome to Caribbean Hub!
